  Men of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos state police command have arrested a 26-year-old man identified as Emmanuel Okoroafor, for allegedly defrauding Point-of-Sale POS operators in the state.   Posting via its Official Facebook page, the RRS wrote;   ''Emmanuel Okorafor, 26, was arrested yesterday evening in Ojota. He was caught in an ATM fraud. He confessed he started it three weeks ago. Okorafor has been defrauding POS operators various sums of money. He normally give them a figure in seven, which the operator would enter into his POS (N52,000:00). Once the machine is handed to him to enter his PIN, he would cleverly delete two zeros (N5,200:00) before returning it to the operators. With this, the operators pay him N52, 000:00 while he is debited N5, 200:00. In his confession, he re-acted same fraud in five POS points yesterday around Ogudu GRA and Ojota before he was arrested in the evening. As at yesterday, three POS operators said he played the same trick on them.

  The victim identified as Oliver Abba was reportedly killed on Thursday night, December 29, 2022, in his village in Niger State.   It was gathered that he had gone to the village to spend the Christmas holidays with his family.   Details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.   Meanwhile, friends, family and former course mates have taken to Facebook to mourn him.    "Brother dis is not d initial plan.. all d struggles, hustle and sleepless nights can't just go in vain bro.   The son of Tobi and Anu Bakre has turned one and the couple shared new photos of him with their social media followers.   The couple, who welcomed their son Abdulmalik on Dec. 30, 2021, have mostly kept his face away from the camera when sharing photos and videos of him.   To mark his first birthday, the parents did a photoshoot and shared photos online.     Former BBNaija reality star Tobi wrote in the caption that their son is the best thing to ever happen to them.  

  The Nasarawa State Police Command has paraded 14 suspects arrested for cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping, and other crimes in the state.    The State Police Commissioner, CP Maiyaki Muhammed Baba, who paraded the suspected criminals at the police headquarters in Lafia on Friday, December 30, 2022, said the command also recovered arms and ammunitions.     Baba said the command arrested the suspects while implementing the strategies put in place during the yuletide to curtail the excesses of criminals.   The CP further stated that the command from January to December, 2022, arrested a total number of 751 suspects, including 136 armed robbery suspects, 112 suspected kidnappers, 59 rapists and 138 cultists.     According to the commissioner, four armed robbery suspects were arrested in Lafia on December 23, after they attacked two children and dispossessed them of their phones.    "On 23/12/2022 at about 1530hrs, Police operatives attached to ‘E’ Division, Lafia busted a Four-man a

  Suspected armed robbers have killed a 16-year-old girl identified as Sanele Msibi, in Soweto, South Africa.    The grade 11 pupil of Musi High School, was shot dead by the robbers on Monday morning, December 26, 2022, in Pimville.    According to report, Sanele was shot in the head twice after she was robbed of her cell phone.    The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in a statement signed by Cde Machabe Mofokeng, on Wednesday, December 28, said that it is saddened by the gruesome murder of the teenager.      "The ANCYL in Mpete Mosaka Branch (Ward 22 in Pimville) is greatly disturbed and saddened by gruesome murder of the young Sanele Msibi, who was robbed of her cellphone and later shot and killed on Christmas day while walking with her friend in Pimville Zone 9.   A North Carolina man accused of shooting and killing a 5-year-old boy in an unprovoked attack will serve the rest of his life in a U.S. prison without parole. Darius Sessoms, 25, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on Thursday December 29, at the Wilson County Courthouse for the August 2020 shooting of 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant in a case that a judge ruled in October would be tried as a capital murder case that brought a possible death sentence.
