  The police in Adamawa state have arrested a thirty-five-year-old man identified as Ishaya    The deceased, Franchise Albert and his 20-year-old wife, Libiyatu, had been having family issues since 2022 after she began having an extramarital affair with the suspect. e deceased was said to have warned both his wife and the suspect who resides at Luggure Gajere in Fufore LGA, but they refused to heed his warning. "My husband had warned us when he got wind of what we were doing. My husband and I fought over the issue as a result of which I left for my parents' house. Ishaya followed me and took me into the bush and had an affair after the warning. He slept with me 5 times". 99 Years old Man Marries His Girlfriend ( Photos)

  99-year-old Kenyan man, Johana Maritim Butuk, has married his girlfriend, Alice Jemeli, 40, after 20 years of dating.   The lovebirds tied the knot in a colorful wedding ceremony in Soy, Uasin Gishu County on Saturday, January 14, 2023.    When they first met in 2003, Jemeli was only 20 years old and Butuk was 69. Despite their age differences, their love blossomed as they dated.   The nonagenarian proposed to Jemeli in December 2022 and plans of a wedding ceremony started.   According to The Standard, it was Butuk's first marriage since he has never dated a woman for the 99 years he has lived. However Jemeli has three children from a previous relationship and is happy Butuk has accepted them.    The couple celebrated the nuptial at their mud-walled house in Tuiyobei Soy B village. Police Arrest Suspected Cultist Involved In Anambra Killings

  The Anambra State Police Command has arrested three notorious cultists and recovered two locally made pistols, live ammunition, charms, among others.   Spokesman of the command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement on Friday, January 13, said that the suspects were among members of the Viking Confraternity who had allegedly been involved in cult-related killings in Nkpor and Obosi communities.    According to the PPRO, the suspects, Caleb Nwankwo, Katchi Nwolisa, and Okechukwu Freedom were arrested during a raid on a criminal hideout in Nkpor Idemili North LGA.   One of the suspects, Okechukwu was shot during a fierce gun duel with police operatives.    "In relentless efforts of the Command Operatives to take the battle to the door-step of the criminal elements who are bent on fomenting trouble and acts meant to cause tension in the state, burst three notorious cultists, recover *two locally made pistols, one ladies machine, one expanded cartridge, charms, face mask and substance

Fire Kills Man, Wife And Children In Zaria

  A fire incident that occurred in the early hours of Friday, January 13, has claimed the lives of an Imam, Mohammadu Sani, his wife, Raulatu Sani, his son, Hashim Sani (8) and an infant, Fatima Sani.   FRSC Zaria Zone Commander, Mohammad Umar told newsmen that the fire began around 1.00 am at Hajiya Maituwo St., Low-Cost Area Zaria, Zaria Local Government area of the state.   The fire service was called after the fire had already destroyed a substantial part of the house.   Umar added that the intervention of the fire service curtailed the spread of the inferno to neighbouring houses in the area.   Remains of the deceased family have been taken to their family house in Dogarawa in Sabon Gari Local Government for Islamic burial rights.

DPO Slumps And Dies Inside Lagos Office

  The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Seme Police Division in Lagos State, SP Mojeed Salami, slumped and died in his office on Tuesday, January 10.   Police sources say the deceased had complained of headache on the said day and had visited the hospital. He returned but was still feeling unwell. He asked his orderly to tell the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) to come to his office, as he wanted to leave, but not without handing over official proceedings to the DCO. It was reported that the orderly returned to meet the deceased on the floor gasping for breath. He was rushed to the Badagry General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.   Confirming the passing, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said,   “He died on Tuesday. It was shocking to everybody because there was nothing serious about his health. They said he just complained about a minor headache, went to the hospital, came back, commenced work and died shortly afterward.”

Fire Burns Shop In Ibadan Spare Parts Market ( Photos)

  Properties worth millions of Naira have been destroyed as fire gutted the Araromi spare parts market in Ibadan, Oyo State.   The fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday, January 14.   About 45 shops were affected by the fire incident at the spare parts market, which is one of the major markets in Ibadan.   The fire started at about 2:00am and the state fire service succeeded in quenching it around 5 a.m.   General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, Rev. Canon Yemi Akinyinka, blamed the fire on refuse burning.   He said: "Our men are at Araromi Market Agodi Gate since 2:30 a.m. where they are putting off the fire caused by indiscriminate refuse burning.   "The fire was suppressed at 5:00 a.m. Cooling down operation is ongoing to suppress re-ignition. On my way for on the spot assessment.   "I cannot say specifically the number of shops now, you know it is an emergency. It started in the night. About 45 shops."

  Jos-based pastor has been arrested by operatives of the Plateau State Police Command for staging his kidnap and demanding ransom from members of his congregation.   Albarka Bitrus Sukunya was arrested alongside his collaborators following intelligence reports after church members paid N600,000 ransom to secure the cleric’s release.   The Plateau State Police Command's spokesman, Alabo Alfred, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, Jan. 11.   The statement read, "The Plateau State Police Command has again uncovered the nefarious act of one pastor Albarka Bitrus Sukuya ‘m’ of Jenta Apata, Jos who on several occasions staged his kidnap with his cohorts and receive ransom from sympathizing members of his congregation.   "Sequel to his spurious kidnaps of 14/11/2022 and 30/11/2022 where the sum of Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N400,000) and Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) were respectively paid by his sympathizers as ransom for his release, the incidents triggered
