 A notorious  and deadly cultist, Saheed Wasiu, popularly known as K-Federal, has confessed to participating in the murder of 20 innocent persons in a town in Osun State.   Spokesperson of Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, who confirmed the arrest in a statement, said the suspect was earlier wanted by the police for murder and cult related activities.   According to the PPRO, the suspect is a member of the Rasheed Hammed, a.k.a.   28 bank accounts linked to controversial Kenyan preacher, Ezekiel Odero has been frozen for 30 days.   Recall that Pastor Ezekiel Odero was arrested a nd taken in for questioning over the alleged indoctrination and deaths of his church members.   Ezekiel was questioned by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives about a morgue, Milele Funeral Home, built close to his church. It was gathered that several morgue employees confirmed several deaths at his church.   His bank accounts were frozen  following an application by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).   Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have rescued seven kidnapped victims in the Owan East Local Government Area of the state.   Recall that passengers of a Toyota Sienna bus were kidnapped by gunmen along the Afuze-Iheivbe Auchi Road last week Tuesday.    Two of the passengers were, however, rescued last week while the police in collaboration with the local vigilante after four days of bush combing, rescued another seven on Saturday, bringing the total to nine.   The spokesperson of the state police command, Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the development on Monday, May 8, said the victims were rescued on Saturday by a combined security team.   "Seven victims, four males and three females, were rescued by the police on Saturday during bush combing by the security team. All the kidnapped victims have been rescued,” he said.   The PPRO said only nine persons were abducted by kidnappers as against the 12 reported in the media.   Below are names of six of the rescued victims: 

  Residents of Bulawayo in Zimbabwe have been left in shock following report of a   man identified as Pascal Dube stabbing his wife, Ms Aquiline Sadziwa, 34 times with a kitchen knife before crushing her head with a large stone.   The couple had been separated and it was also learnt that Sadziwa was residing at her lodgings when Dube committed the heinous crime at around 9 pm on April 22. The reason for the attack is still unknown, and Dube is still on the run after he disappeared following the alleged crime.   During the attack, the couple’s baby was strapped to Ms Sadziwa’s back, and although not harmed, the infant was drenched in blood.   Speaking at a church service held at the scene of the murder, Mr Tonderayi Chingonzo, the uncle to Ms Sadziwa, revealed that the police discovered 21 stab wounds when they arrived at the murder scene.   56-year-old former boxer, Moses Olapade, has been arrested in Ondo State for allegedly beating his wife, Tinuke, to coma for refusing to hand over a television remote to him.    According to reports, the incident occurred at their residence, No. 9, Odama street in Oke-Aro Community in Akure.    It was gathered that Olopade, a truck driver who plies the Northern part of the country, returned home from a journey on the fateful day and wanted to watch a programme on the television.    He was said to have asked his 44-year-old wife to hand over the TV remote to him but she refused.    Olopade, out of anger, rained punches on the wife until she fell down and became unconscious.    It took the intervention of neighbours to rescue the woman from her husband after their children ran out screaming for help.   When the neighbours burst into the house to rescue the woman, they found her lying unconscious on the floor and quickly rushed her to the nearest hospital.    The matter was reported to

  Justice Shawomi Bokkos of an area court in Jos, Plateau state, on Monday, May 8, sentenced a 25-year-old man identified as Emmanuel Christopher, to one-month in jail, for stealing a sheep.     The police prosecutor, Insp Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported at the Anglo-Jos police station on April 17 by Samuel Elvis. He said the complainant said the accused person, trespassed into his farm and stole his sheep valued at N 60,000. The prosecutor further told the court that during the police investigation, the convict confessed to having committed the act.   The offense, he said, contravened the Plateau State Penal Code law of Northern Nigeria.   The Judge, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the two counts of trespass as well as theft and begged the court for leniency. The judge gave the convict an option of N10, 000 fine or one-month imprisonment.

  The command’s spokesman said that the 94 suspected commercial sex workers had been charged to court alongside some of the male suspects. The Police Command in Delta has apprehended 94 women, suspected to be commercial sex workers, in Ughelli North Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
