  Officials of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two cable vandals attempting to cut armoured cables in Ikoyi.    Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this in a statement on Monday, October 31, 2022,   He said the suspects, Wasiu Olainukan (25) and Habib Rasaq (30), were arrested at about 3:45 a.m on Saturday, October 29, while excavating and cutting cables powering street lights in the area.    Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, who were arrested with a handsaw and cutting pliers, were labourers on Banana Island.   The Commander, Rapid Response Squad, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has since transferred the suspects and exhibits to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti for further investigation and prosecution.  

  Friends are mourning a travel content creator who was shot dead by gunmen.   Eboh George, an Asaba-based vlogger known for making documentaries that showcase the lifestyle in several parts of Nigeria, was killed on Tuesday, October 11.   He had travelled to film in Benue and Enugu state and was travelling back to Asaba from Benue state when he and other travellers were ambushed at four corners junction, along Enugu-Umuahia Expressway.   He was shot dead alongside one other traveller. Others were kidnapped.   Eboh left his wife and son abroad and returned to Nigeria with the aim of showcasing the beauty of the country to the world through his videos.     He will be laid to rest on November 9th.  

  Nigerian man on Sunday, October 30, celebrated his 100th birthday thanksgiving at the Dunamis Christian Center in Abuja.   The man born in 1926 is said to have three wives, 18 children, 46 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.     The man hails from Benue state, and is said to have never been hospitalized, doesn't use eyeglasses, and also walks without the aid of a walking stick.   Watch a video of him and some of his children in church during the thanksgiving service below..  

  Simon Cowell has recalled his wild behaviour when he was a pre-teen.   The TV mogul, who has an 8-year-old son named Eric, revealed he was already smoking and drinking from the age of eight and was arrested for hijacking a bus at age 12.   Simon, 63, said he got up to a lot of mischief in his childhood due to having a "low boredom threshold" and not being academic.   "I was so bad when I was Eric’s age.   There was mild drama at the Ibadan Central hospital in Oyo state on Monday, October 31 following allegations that some parts of a corpse of a 91-year-old woman who passed away in the hospital were mutilated.   According to reports, the deceased identified as Rachel Oshuntolu was admitted in the hospital over a week ago. She however passed away on Sunday morning, October 30.  Some children of the nonagenarian explained that they left the hospital at around 8pm in the evening of Sunday with the plan of taking the corpse to a morgue this morning. They said they were all surprised when they saw sprinkles of blood on the floor of the room where the corpse was kept, while some pounds of flesh on the woman’s forehead and arm had been removed.   Reacting to the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP.   father flogged his 5-year-old son to punish the boy's mother.   The boy was rescued by neighbours and the case was reported to concerned authorities before Dr Yolanda George-David, a human rights advocate, took up the case.   While being questioned, the boy said his father flogged him with a wire.     The father admitted that he flogged his son with his charger cord and said he did so because he was angry.     He explained that he kept telling the child's mother to carry him but she refused, so, in anger, he flogged the boy with the cord.   The beating left welts on the boy's back.   Watch a video below.    

  Members of Germany's Under 17 women's team danced with their Nigerian counterparts on Sunday to Nigerian music despite losing their third-place encounter 3-2 on penalties to Nigeria. The Nigerian team had dominated the encounter with a 3 nil deficit, courtesy of goals from the trio of Opeyemi Ajakaye, Amina Bello and Etim Eddidiong.   The Germans fought their way back into the encounter with goals from Jella Velt, and Paulina Bartz and a last-minute acrobatic kick from Loreen Bender; cancelled Nigeria’s three goals deficit.   This resulted into penalties where Nigeria emerged victorious.   A Nigerian doctor has taken to his Twitter handle to explain why singer Davido returned to his lover, Chioma's bosom after their brief breakup.   In a post shared on his handle, the doctor opined that a woman like Chioma is extremely rare to find.   Operatives of the Ogun State police command have arrested a couple identified as Godday and Ebere Samuel for human trafficking.   According to the command's spokesperson SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects were arrested following a report lodged at Atan Ota divisional headquarters by one Adeniji Okikiolu, who stated that his 16-year-old daughter, Maria Adeniji suddenly disappeared from home on the 16th of October 2022, and while search party was organized to look for her, he was informed by someone that the missing girl was seen with Ebere Samuel the previous day.   “Upon the information, Ebere Samuel was invited to the station, but she vehemently denied ever seeing the missing girl on or before that day.   Controversial British journalist, Pires Morgan has defended  Cristiano Ronaldo and accused Manchester United of shamefully disrespecting the Portuguese star.    Recall that Ronaldo refused to come on against Tottenham on Wednesday night October 19, and then walked down the Old Trafford tunnel on his own before the final whistle.    On Thursday,  the club released a statement announcing that the 37-year-old would be dropped from Man United's squad for their match against Chelsea this Saturday.   Kechi Okwuchi has said she will not be bullied into believing she is less because of her looks.   The plane crash survivor made this known on Twitter while sharing a new photo.   The former America's Got Talent contestant wrote: "1 thing I’ll never do is allow myself to be bullied into believing I am less solely based on the fact that I don’t fit conventional beauty standards.   The founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Johnson Suleman, has broken his silence after surviving what he termed an  assassination  attempt in Auchi, Edo State on Friday, October 21.    posted on his church's social media pages, the clergyman said he knows those behind the attack but won't be mentioning their names.   "I just escaped an assassination attempt where seven people were killed.   Dr Fred Ekpe Ayokhai, a lecturer at Federal University of Lafia has been called out for attacking a lady with his children, after she reportedly fought his daughter over a man.   Ayokhai who reportedly works with the History and International relations department of the institution, was caught on camera with his children assaulting and stripping the lady now identified as Blessing Mathias naked.      Prior to being assaulted, Blessing had beaten the lecturer's daughter, Emmanuella for trying to snatch her boyfriend identified as IG. Their fight ensued after she discovered that Nuella had her boyfriend’s number in her phone, which she refused to delete. The said lady gathered her friends to beat Emmanuella.   At least seven people have been killed after gunmen attacked Apostle Johnson Suleman's convoy.   The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) International was on Warake road in Auchi, Edo State, on Friday evening, October 21, when his convoy was attacked.   At least four policemen, one driver, and a lady died in the attack.     Graphic videos shared online show the deceased persons lying on the floor in a pool of their blood.     Another video shows bullet holes in the cars following the attack.     Suleman survived the attack.     This comes barely six weeks after the convoy of Anambra Senator Andy Ubah came under fire.   Watch videos from the scene below.
