  The police in Adamawa state have arrested a thirty-five-year-old man identified as Ishaya    The deceased, Franchise Albert and his 20-year-old wife, Libiyatu, had been having family issues since 2022 after she began having an extramarital affair with the suspect. e deceased was said to have warned both his wife and the suspect who resides at Luggure Gajere in Fufore LGA, but they refused to heed his warning. "My husband had warned us when he got wind of what we were doing. My husband and I fought over the issue as a result of which I left for my parents' house. Ishaya followed me and took me into the bush and had an affair after the warning. He slept with me 5 times". Angry Youths Set Truck On Fire For Killing 6 Women In Borno


 Angry youths went on a rampage after six women were crushed to death by a tipper truck along the Gubio road, the outskirt of Maiduguri, Borno State. 

 

The incident occurred around 10:05 am on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Kaswan Fara, Shagari Lowcost Estate area when the tipper truck conveying sharp sand suffered brake failure.

 

An eyewitness, Kola Fatai, told Daily Trust that the truck rammed into a pickup conveying the women to the farm, killing at least 6 of them.

 

A resident, Iman Buba, said that two tippers (trucks) have been set ablaze by irritated youths, as police tried to calm the situation.

 

The road leading to Gubio from Maiduguri has been barricaded by protesters.

 

Another eyewitness said the truck which caused the road mishap was attempting to overtake another tipper, but lost control and crashed into the pickup carrying the women.

 

Security agencies were deployed to the scene to bring the situation under control.

Gang Arrested For Kidnapping, Killing Man Days To His Wedding

Akanbi of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin has sentenced one Mohammed Kazeem Beiwa to death for the horrific murder of his next-door neighbour, Olokose Ojo Olushola in Ilorin a few days before his wedding.    Late Ojo, a staff at the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) unit of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, was kidnapped and murdered by Mohammed and his gang for ritual purposes in 2021.    The court also handed down 10 years imprisonment and a N100,000 fine each to his two other accomplices; Madu Jeremiah and Mohammed Chatta while the fourth defendant, Jimoh Abdulateef was set free by the Court for lack of diligent prosecution.   The four accused persons were facing prosecution before the court on eight count charges having been accused of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, culpable homicide, illegal possession of firearms, and illegal removal of human parts.   The prosecution led by the former Attorney Genera...
