  The police in Adamawa state have arrested a thirty-five-year-old man identified as Ishaya    The deceased, Franchise Albert and his 20-year-old wife, Libiyatu, had been having family issues since 2022 after she began having an extramarital affair with the suspect. e deceased was said to have warned both his wife and the suspect who resides at Luggure Gajere in Fufore LGA, but they refused to heed his warning. "My husband had warned us when he got wind of what we were doing. My husband and I fought over the issue as a result of which I left for my parents' house. Ishaya followed me and took me into the bush and had an affair after the warning. He slept with me 5 times". Suspected Herdsmen Kills 18 People Including Children In Benue ( Photos)

 


Suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed 18 people including children in four different communities in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

 

It was gathered that several others were injured in the attack which occurred on Thursday, November 3, 2022. 


 

According to the natives, the suspected herders stormed Ukohol village during a market day, killing 10 people. 


 

It was gathered that when the herders were done at Ukohol, they moved to nearby communities and killed 8 others. 

 

One of the victims has been identified as Mr Ikpuku Jembe I Nyev (Ortese youth leader)



The chairman of the Guma local government, Mike Ubah, who confirmed the incident to newsmen on Friday, said that 18 were killed.


 

"My people at Ukohol were attacked by armed herders and killed about 10 people. The worst of it all is that they even killed children below the age of two years," he said. 

 

"They didn’t stop at that point but went to three villages/settlements around and killed another eight making it a total of 18. Ten at the market, eight in the villages when they (herders) were returning.

 

"The security operatives were prompt and that’s what saved the day, if they had delayed, the causality would have been more than that.


 

"It was a market day, they went there and started shooting. What is happening now is that they are trying to destabilise people from their villages and settlements and occupy them and graze in them at night.

 

"The herders appeared in black attires. No village is spared and the whole 10 council wards in Guma are affected,” the council boss added.

Gang Arrested For Kidnapping, Killing Man Days To His Wedding
